Jewellery box
Iran, 19th century
A wooden case with a removable upper section containing nine compartments. Drop-down lockable door on front enclosing eight pull-out trays. The surface of the box, outer sides of the trays, and inside of the hinged lid are decorated using the inlay technique of khatam-kari (wood, bone, and metal).
